Dear Time Travellers,
Since the creation of our beloved project, one core principle has always been important to us: we want everyone to enjoy the features of the game they like, without feeling forced to do things they don’t enjoy. Because playing a game is about having fun, not doing chores.
This is why we are introducing a new custom vendor that will provide baseline PvP weapons for honor points.
Why are we doing this?
Some players don’t enjoy raiding or simply don’t have enough time for it. The way the game is designed, this penalizes PvP players: they cannot easily obtain competitive PvP weapons, and they lag behind PvE-geared players. This gap becomes wider and wider as the Arena Season progresses.
Lower item-level weapons do exist in the game, but they’ve never been made available for purchase. We want to change this so that PvP players are never forced to do PvE content to get base weapons if they don’t want to, just as PvE players are never forced to do PvP to get base PvE gear.
Here’s how it will work
These basic PvP weapons will have a similar item level and price to the basic PvP gear you normally get by farming honor. They provide a baseline option for PvP players, however, raiding will still reward you with higher item-level weapons if you choose to participate in PvE content as well.
- Season 5: When Deadly Gladiator weapons are PvP BiS, Savage Gladiator weapons will be available for honor
- Season 6: When Furious Gladiator weapons are PvP BiS, Hateful Gladiator weapons will be available for honor
- Season 7: When Relentless Gladiator weapons are PvP BiS, Deadly Gladiator weapons will be available for honor
- Season 8: When Wrathful Gladiator weapons are PvP BiS, Furious Gladiator weapons will be available for honor
We reserve the possibility to monitor how this system performs and adjust it further if needed
