Dev Diary #11: Sailing North

Greetings, time travelers!

The wait is nearly over — we’ve now stepped into the pre-patch phase, and that can only mean one thing: Northrend is drawing ever closer!

To help ensure release day is as smooth as possible, we’ll be working through bugs in two main phases:

Phase 1 (September): Open world issues — quests, spawns, events, and those pesky blockers that can halt progress. Once the major problems are cleared, we’ll move on to smaller fixes like misplaced creatures and missing visuals.

Phase 2 (Late September into October): Dungeon issues — everything from broken scripts to missing encounters.

This timeline may shift as we dig deeper into content, but we’ll keep you well informed of any changes along the way.

At present, there are around 124 open issues for both world and dungeon content, while we have closed about 100 issues so far. Some are harder to solve, but what matters most is steady progress. The more we knock out now, the smoother your journey through Northrend will be when the gates finally open.
